Overview

We are looking for a highly motivated, Principal Power/Hardware Engineer to perform as part of a multifunctional team focusing on hardware designs from PCB to integrated rack level products. The principal engineer would be responsible for leading and executing architectural and design investigations in various functional areas, recommend technical direction, perform root cause analysis, and evaluate implementation with respect to cost effectiveness, robustness and implementation tradeoffs.  Must be able to work and lead projects across multiple organizations, contract manufacturers and time zones.  Projects will range from Edge products through AI and High-Performance Computing. Multi-functional experience is essential in terms of board level rework, mechanical skills, and knowledge of product compliance.

 

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and provide design analysis and recommendations from concept through manufacturing.
  • Range of products will include Edge servers in CL1 DIV2 hazardous areas, predictive fault tolerant servers in an IT/OT environment through HPC servers installed in immersion cooling tanks.
  • Leads technical reviews, solutions and when necessary, provide coordination across multi-functions and management team.
  • Perform root cause analysis from component level to fully integrated platform solutions.
  • Conduct and review circuit designs, simulations, analysis and design verifications, including creating and executing on test plans.
  • Assist with project timelines and cost estimates.
  • Research applicable topics

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering
  • 10+ years of applicable hardware engineering experience
  • Extensive practical experience and proficiency in circuit design, power design and complex hardware designs up through fully integrated solutions
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Experience with Cadence schematic capture, Mathcad/Prime, TINA_TI, LTSpice
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Excellent multitasking abilities and motivational skills
  • Familiar with Intel power specifications at the board and PSU level.
  • Familiar with hot-swap circuits and requirements
  • Familiar with product compliance such as safety and EMI standards.
  • Familiar with mechanical fabrication and thermal chamber operations.
  • Desire to work in a fast paced, multi-project environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

 

Location

This is a hybrid position with two days per week onsite at our Maynard, Massachusetts facility.

 

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in Maynard, MA is $145,000 - $170,000; the pay ultimately offered within the expected range may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
