Overview

The Senior Solutions Architect is the technical arm of the Sales team and works with a

regional sales team to provide optimal HPC, AI, Machine Learning, Storage, Infrastructure, and Software solutions for both cloud and Data Centers.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide in depth expertise across HPC, Cloud and AI/ML domains in the enterprise space.
  • Participate in the identification, qualification and closing of sales opportunities.
  • Assist with technical responses to RFIs and RFPs
  • Serve as sales team liaison to internal technical staff such as Product Management, Operations and Engineering.
  • Ensure that customer requirements are appropriately interpreted, and contribute to the development of comprehensive solutions.
  • Develop and conduct product presentations involving product capabilities, solution architecture and design.
  • Travel throughout the assigned sales region to perform technical sales and promote Penguin solutions vs. competitor’s solutions.
  • Provide Operations team with appropriate product/cluster/network requirements and design intent to build out factory integrated solutions.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum of 7 years technical sales experience, proven track record of closing deals with sales team
  • Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed up to 50% throughout the assigned region.
  • A strong combination of the following:
    • Strong knowledge of cloud technologies including Openstack and Kubernetes
    • DevOps knowledge and experience
    • Strong knowledge of Linux and cloud automation tools (CloudFormation, ansible or similar tools)
    • Large RFP response experience
    • Design experience in Ethernet, and low latency networking, preferably with associated switch and fabric configurations.
    • Storage knowledge including parallel, block, file and object store technologies

 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • AWS or GCP Cloud Certifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong knowledge of High Performance Computing (HPC) & cloud applications
  • Data center infrastructure knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux cluster technologies and optimization techniques
  • Network topologies and architecture
  • File systems and Software Defined Storage e.g. Lustre, Gluster, GPFS/ESS, VAST, WekaIO, CEPH, SWIFT, Cinder

 

Compensation & Benefits

The pay range that the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position in the United States is $128,000 – 175,000; the pay ultimately offered within the expected range may vary based on business considerations, including job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and education. The position is bonus-eligible, and there are medical, dental, and vision benefits available. There is a 401k saving plan and other benefits, such as Paid Time Off, Life Insurance, and an Employee Assistance Plan.
